About Us
At your service since 1987 !

Our company was founded in 1987 by Alban Dunn. It was named at that period Équipement Dunn and Alain Bellerose, now co-owner, worked as an employee. Michel Bellerose – President – joined them later on. Mrs. Denise Lavigne always supported both of her sons in all their projects and is still part of the daily operations.

In 1993, Michel and Alain Bellerose obtained a grant for renovating and expanding their workshop then located on rue Bellerose. At the same period they obtain the Polaris dealership. Équipement Dunn later moved to a new location at 190 Brassard and became Location de motoneiges Haute Matawinie. It is in 2005 that the Polaris banner was replaced by the Bombardier (BRP) and Honda banners. Two years later, the 17000-foot extension was built, which doubled the floor space and made it the largest showroom in the Lanaudière region. Starting off with 40 snowmobiles, they expanded year after year. As of now the rental fleet is over 800 snowmobiles, which makes Location de motoneiges Haute Matawinie the biggest rental center in the world. Two percent of the BRP production is sent here to our dealership in St-Michel-des-Saints.

In 1999, Location de motoneiges Haute Matawine acquired Maximage Aventure, a pioneer and a leader in organizing tours for the European clientele. This acquisition allowed the company to offer all inclusive snowmobile packages working along with European Travel Agencies or even custom-made ones for a specific clientele.

The company now hires up to 50 employees on a seasonal basis and 20 on a permanent basis. Since the rental fleet is renewed yearly, the customers can count on brand new snowmobiles and drive without any hassle. The used snowmobiles are then sold around the world.

On the night of March 27, 2009, the two owners helplessly witnessed the building burned to the ground. The next morning, Alain, Michel and the whole team gathered in a pre-owned building in St-Zénon and started doing whatever was necessary to ensure the business continuity. In less than a week, the business was ready to operate again at the new temporary location. The reconstruction started in September 2009 and the official opening was held on November 28, one month after the moving. Over 500 persons enjoyed their visit of that brand new location. Since then the business activities are going well, even beyond expectations. We would like to thank all our customers and friends for their support.
